Examples of our Wilsall Pottery 8-23-14

Pots created this summer.  We had alot of fun and learned much.  (We had a long ways to go)  We had too many less than acceptable projects to mention.  Many times we turned good clay into mud or selected a glaze that just looked bad.  We ruined a batch of raku by firing to the wrong temp.  Below is some of our so called successes.

Russ threw this pot and Leona decorated it.
The scene is scratched in and stained.
Flowers and leaves were glazed after the initial glaze firing.

Leona sculptured and glazed the flowers.

A different technique.
Bowls were carved and then expanded.
The red bowl was painted with Sodium Silicate prior to expanding.

Raku.
Our first firing failed because we only heated to 1450.
This firing we heated to 1900.
It turned out nice.
